HEALTH CARE POLICY
Your Ambulance Authority has established a staffing pattern for full time employees that consists of four (4) Para Medic and three (3) EMT's.
This group is assisted in conducting the business of the Authority by contingent - part time staff who are not covered by this health care policy.
Three (3) types of health care coverage is provided to full time personnel only after their initial three months of employment. They are as of Aug 2009:
(1) Family monthly cost $1,333
(2) Couple monthly cost $1,111
(3) Individual. monthly cost $ 493
Medics are offered a choice of which of these types of coverage they desire.
EMT's are offered ONLY the individual coverage.
Full time EMT's holding a valid Medic license and working out of class will be allowed to move up to "couple or family" coverage in a co-pay arrangement with the Authority contributing $750 per month towards the cost of coverage they choose.
Advanced coverage such as "full family" is available to Medics who desire it with the Medic reimbursing the Authority for the differential cost. Currently the differential cost of this type of policy is $ 247 per month
Any full time employee not taking medical insurance will be eligible for coverage of "un reimbursed" medical expense on other coverage they may have up to $3,000 annually.
To receive reimbursement the employee must submit paid receipts for medical services that indicate that the service was performed for the covered employee.
To receive reimbursement the receipts must be presented for payment within 30 days of being paid by the employee.
