Ordinances

The following is a brief series of ordinances that regulate areas of nuisance and safety. For more detail please use the links to the left.

Building Number Display: Premises must display the address numbers as assigned by Consumers Energy.

Blight: Premises must be free of junk and garbage. Buildings must be in good repair.

Burning: Only certain items may be burned. A permit must be obtained. The Transfer Station on Tower Hill Rd. takes leaves and brush at no charge.

Noise: Unreasonable noise that disturbs others is prohibited.

Grass/Weeds: Growth of grass and noxious weeds must be controlled.

Dock Ordinance: Specific regulations apply to dock at public road ends.

Garage Sale: A permit is required for garge sales. There is no fee for the permit. Permits are available during office hours.
