Supervisor Randall called the meeting to order at 7:00 with Annie Hose, Roscommon Township Treasurer, leading the Pledge of Allegiance.

Motion by Hose, support by Akin, to add a correspondence from Houghton Lake Jaguar Youth Football & Cheerleading Re: Request to use soccer fields; and to allow public comment at the beginning of the meeting.  All Yes, motion carried.

Houghton Lake Chamber of Commerce Re: Appreciation of Township for use of Community Hall
Houghton Lake Jaguar Youth Football & Cheerleading Re: Request to use soccer fields.  Motion by Stevenson, support by Akin, to authorize the Houghton Lake Jaguar Youth Football & Cheerleading organization to use the former soccer fields at Skinner Park from August 16, 2010 through October 31, 2010, contingent upon proof of proper liability insurance.  All Yes, motion carried.

Roscommon Township Fire Dept.  Request for Turn-out Gear.  Motion by Stevenson, support by Hose to authorize the purchase of 3 sets of Turn-out Gear for a cost not to exceed $4023.45.  All Yes, motion carried.
MTA Class- Understanding the Costs and Benefits of Sharing Services with other Local Government.  No action.
Roscommon Township Group Insurance Ordinance #44.  Tabled.
Roscommon Township Land Division Ordinance #50.  Motion by Stevenson, support by Akin to adopt resolution #2010-8-10 to amend the Roscommon Township Ordinance #50 Land Divisions as follows: Add the following language to Section V, Application for Land Division Approval, paragraph one, sentence one:  An applicant shall file all of the following on or before December 31 of the immediately preceeding year, with the Township assessor or other official designated by the governing body for review and approval of a proposed land division before making any division either by deed, land contract, lease for more than one year, or for building development.  All Yes, motion carried.
T-Shirts for Park Volunteers  Motion by Randall, support by Muckenthaler to authorize purchase of T-Shirts for Park Volunteers for a cost not to exceed $432.00.  All Yes, motion carried.
Land Use/Assessing Camera Motion by Hose, support by Akin to authorize purchase of a durable outdoor camera for Land Use & Assessing for a cost not to exceed $350.00.  All Yes, motion carried.
Houghton Lake Heights Revitalization - The Roscommon Township Board has been working with Michigan State Housing Development Authority's Community Assistance Team in an effort to review the possibility of revitalizing the Houghton Lake Heights area.  Supervisor Randall shared information with the Township Board and asked for direction.

Supervisor Randall recognized Jenny Cromwell, Randy Woodbury, & Cody Parr, all members of the Roscommon Township Fire Dept. on completing their Firefighter 1 & 2.
Household Hazardous Waste Day- September 11, 2010 at the Roscommon County Health Department Parking lot.  This is at the intersection of M-18 and M-157.  The time is 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.
The Park Committee would like to invite everyone to the Movie in the Park on Saturday August 28th starting at 9:00 p.m. at Skinner Park.
