Paramedic staff working in EMT-B Slot
This policy pertains to staff that work in a full time Basic EMT slot who hold a current Paramedic License.
Staff working in a full time EMT-B position who hold a current Paramedic License and have met the NCMCA medical control
requirements may operate at the level of a Paramedic.
Staff will be considered a “Paramedic in training” until all orientation and competencies have been met and are released to operate
as a lead Paramedic by agency management.
Staff working in a full time EMT-B position who hold a current Paramedic License will remain at the Paramedic training wage until they
move into an open full time Paramedic slot or change to casual status.
Staff working in a full time EMT-B position who hold a current Paramedic License will be eligible for the standard benefits entitled to
the EMT-B slot. The employee may choose to increase their coverage to couple or family coverage with the Houghton Lake Ambulance
Authority contributing $750 toward the cost of the insurance with the remainder paid by the employee.
Paramedics in training and staff working in a full time EMT-B position who hold a current Paramedic License will adhere to all rules, responsibilities and standards of Houghton Lake Ambulance.
Paramedics in training and staff working in a full time EMT-B position who hold a current Paramedic License understand that they are
not guaranteed a full time Paramedic slot but that they will be given a fair opportunity to apply for any full time Paramedic positions as
they come available.
